Playtech extends partnership with Betfred

Betfred and Playtech have expanded their partnership in a multi-year extension deal that sees Playtech products in Betfred shops.

The two businesses have a 12-year history of working together.

Included in the extension is an increase in the amount of Playtech Self Service Betting Terminals (SSBTs) in Betfred shops. Playtech reports that terminal numbers have grown by 50% in the previous two years and installing more will help meet customer demand for sports betting SSBTs.

Additionally, the terminals will also feature horse and dog racing for the first time.

“This new deal demonstrates the importance of our ongoing relationship with market leader Playtech,” Betfred group chief operating officer Mark Stebbings said. “The importance of betting terminals to our retail offering continues to increase, becoming an increasingly essential gaming component for our customers and, therefore, a crucial part of the future of our company.

“Looking ahead, there is scope for further development..

Inside The Pocket (ITP) and Playtech have entered into a strategic partnership, which will see ITP's free-to-play (F2P) and daily fantasy sports (DFS) platform offered to Playtech's international operator partners.

As part of the deal, over 100 F2P and DFS games will be offered to a number of Playtech’s operators around the world, giving ITP a “broader scope” in the market.

This distribution will occur “territory-by-territory”.

The deal will allow ITP to establish itself as a tool for Playtech customers, wherein they can take advantage of ITP’s acquisition and retention tools.

“The international scope provided by Inside The Pocket’s content aggregation platform represents an exciting opportunity for Playtech,” said Anthony Evans vice-president of strategy at Playtech. “ITP’s content aggregation platform also provides the requisite flexibility for newly regulated and maturing markets.

Playtech extends exclusive SSBT deal with Paddy Power

Playtech has announced the extension of its exclusive partnership with major retail and online brand Paddy Power.

The new multi-year deal builds on a longstanding relationship between the supplier and the Flutter Entertainment-owned operator, dating back more than 10 years.

As part of the new deal, Playtech will remain the exclusive provider of Self Service Betting Terminals (SSBTs) for Paddy Power in both the UK and Ireland.

Playtech said the new deal comes amid a period of growing popularity for sports betting terminals in retail shops, which was in evidence during the recent Fifa World Cup. It has recently rolled out new features such as the improved Betbuilder and Player Props.

Playtech moves away from plans to sell Snai amid good trading

Playtech will put aside any plans to sell off its B2C Snaitech business – at least temporarily – after the business determined that its recent success meant it could deliver more value by remaining part of the group.

Comments on the subject came from Playtech leadership following the business announcing its H1 results, in which revenue was up 73% year-on-year to €792.3m. Revenue from Snaitech specifically almost tripled to €446.0m.

The supplier had reportedly been considering a break-up of its business, including a sale of the Snaitech arm it acquired in 2018, after plans to sell the entire business fell through. The Playtech board approved an offer from land-based slots giant Aristocrat, but shareholders ultimately rejected this deal.

A group called TTB Partners then announced that it was considering a bid of its own, and received support from Playtech chief executive Mor Weizer (pictured). However, amid changing market conditions, TTB ultimately declined to submit a bid for the ga..
